French Fries Lady Stirring Mix


 

2 Pounds potatoes, Peeled
Vegetable Oil, For frying
Salt and Pepper

Cut the potatoes into 1/2 inch wide strips. Rinse well in cold water, drain thoroughly, and
pat dry with paper towels. Add the Vegetables into a 3 to 4 inch deep fat fryer or cast
iron skillet. Heat oil to 350 to 375. Grease will be hot and bubbly. Place fries into the
wire basket of deep fryer or into the skillet. You will need to do this in two batches.
Cook for approx. 6 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel and sprinkle
with salt and pepper. (Kids Please get Mom to make these. Grease is very hot and can
 start a fire.)

*** Variations********
*Leave the skin on the potato for cottage fries (scrub well)
*Dip Potatoes into cold water and then into seasoned cornmeal.
*Instead of frying, Place in the oven. Place potatoes in a well greased pan and sprinkle
  potatoes with 1/4 cup olive oil and toss. Bake at 375 degrees until done.
* Top cooked French Fries with Chili and Cheddar Cheese for Chili Fries.


** Use other condiments other than Ketchup, Example GF Ranch Dressing,
   Sweet & Sour Sauce, Mustard or Bar B Que Sauce.

*** Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, and KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce are no longer
      Gluten Free, so Avoid****
